When I first saw the pics I assumed you were pushing the air onto the compressor. And then I thought how would it work if you pulled the air out through the fans?
What kind of fridge are you using?. It looks like the drilled holes may be resticting air flow unless there is other inlet area like in the front or sides of the fridge.
