You can't taste the gas, and at 32 you can't taste the beer either. When your beer is 38 degrees, it has the flavors intended by the brewer. The colder you get, the more of that flavor is masked, so it probably tasted funny to you because the flavors you had been experiencing at 38 were gone.

Sometimes when I reflect back on all the beer I drink I feel ashamed.
