My question is: Do I need to insulate the lines or rig anything to keep them cold, or is this distance not much of any issue? Also, if I need to insulate, please illustrate or point me somewhere for step by step directions. I am spending a lot of money to make this look good and don't want to constantly have foamy beer. Also, if I do not insulate, howmuch beer will I be wasting and will it spoil the keg??

Thanks!
You definitely need to run something like flexible PVC from the top of the kegerator to the underside of the counter/tower, insulate it, and run a blower/fan through the line into the tower. There are literally dozens of examples of this in these forums. search "under counter" and "tower cooling", many of which are highly detailed containing pictures and drawings.

here's a good one that uses a fixed line, obviously if your setup location or under counter location doesn't allow the fixed tubing, you use the flexible PVC instead...

Sometimes when I reflect back on all the beer I drink I feel ashamed.
Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery
and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn't drink this beer, they might
be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say to myself,
"It is better that I drink this beer and let their dreams come true than
be selfish and worry about my liver."
