I tapped mine out the side. I found that the handles interfere with the freezer door if you put the tap on the front (I have the tall bar style handles.) To mount the faucet on the front of mine and still be able to open the freezer it would have been so low that you have to get on your knee's to fill your cup! I didn't even think of this, my neighbor saved my butt on this one! All of the, for lack of a better term crap, that makes the fridge function is in the back wall not the side. Good luck.
