Replacing friction washers
In our day to day cleaning schedule, we replace faucet washers as needed. On occasion, when replacing the friction and ball washers, it is almost impossible to remove the tap marker without destroying the whole lever assembly and marker.Soaking it in cleaning solution sometime works but not always. Spaying with WD40 and letting it soak while cleaning the other faucets sometimes works, but not always. I know that beer and brass causes a reaction that can be like a chemical weld.Ocasionally have the problem with S/S levers as well, but not as often. Anybody have any solutions to this problem, other than what I am already doing? I started putting a little lube( Crisco type) on the stem before assembly, but that is not always practical. Thanx, Tapman
